My Experience with SEO and 3 Key Lessons Learned

I started my journey as an SEO Executive in a small-scale company in Bangalore and then switched to Chennai after working for 1 year and 3 months, where I was about to work on a new website with 0% SEO done on it.

I did many trial and error experiments on the website to make sure that the new website works and ranks higher on Google search results.

I made many mistakes, learned from them, and got some fantastic results after thousands of experiments.

I have worked on seven personal websites and got some fantastic results. I also lost some websites due to some mistakes that I made while I did trial and error.

How to rank an article

How to rank an article

Google uses more than 2000 rank signals to decide which content to rank based on the results. While I was experimenting with this topic, I learned that there is one single article that is very important to rank, and that signal is “Backup Article.”

Now, you might be thinking about what a backup article is and how it is used to rank an article. Don’t worry; let me clear up any confusion.

First, you should write an article about the topic with detailed information, make it look like an important article, and then write some other articles related to the same subject. There is no need to provide detailed information; instead, give the necessary details only and give a link juice to the main article.

By doing this, you will know that after a few days, the vital article began to rank higher on Google than it was. Because the backup articles give more importance to that one article, Google does the same and makes your article rank higher.

Keyword Research

Keyword Research

People often say that keyword research is essential to make sure you rank higher on Google, and I agree with it, but do you think only keyword research on SEO tools like SEMrush and Moz is enough to rank an article? The answer is NO.

Keyword research is optional, but knowing how to do keyword research is critical to doing this proper research. You need to follow the following steps to make sure you do proper keyword research.

  1. Find the volume of the keyword
  2. Find the intent
  3. Look for the competition
  4. Search the keyword on the google and Analyze the Results
  5. Analyze the first ten articles on the SERP
  6. Analyze the sentences and words used in the sentence
  7. Look at clusters of keywords used in the article

Content Writing

Content Writing

In my opinion, content is the soul of the article, and without an article, no SEO or any other technique works to rank the article on Google. The rule is that the article should be of high quality.

Rules of writing a good article

  1. Keyword density should be less than 1%
  2. There may be three internal and two external links based on need.
  3. Keywords should be in the title, description, headings, and content.
  4. Keyword should be in 1st 100 words
  5. Should write in passive voice
  6. The article should be at least 300 words
  7. Should provide detailed information
  8. Provide citations if possible
  9. Graphics such as images or video are necessary
  10. The author’s name or bio should be present.
